Elkhorn Slough Safari provides excellent opportunities to photograph wildlife close at hand. The Safari pontoon boat offers ease of use with a stable platform to photograph from and the boat is an effective vantage point for capturing wildlife on film. There is plenty of space to spread out your gear. There are a wide variety of subjects: beautiful scenery, marine mammals including sea otters and seals, many different species of birds and flocks of thousands of birds, other wetland wildlife, habitats, and historic locations. Be sure to let the Captain know you are photographing so he can cater to your needs. You can arrange for a private photographic boat tour for just yourself or for a photography club group.

Elkhorn Slough Safari offers special photography workshops with published, local professional nature photographers. You can learn how to frame and expose a perfect outdoor photograph and get pointers from the pros. The photo field workshops are offered year round with the next scheduled for April 12.
